Royal Family: Kate Middleton is the spitting image of Prince Louis in unearthed childhood snap

The Duchess of Cambridge looks the spit of her son Prince Louis in a recently unearthed picture. In the childhood snap, a young Kate Middleton is sat on her father's lap, grinning at the camera.

The pair are both wearing casual clothes and Kate is even rocking pigtails. Both appear to be relaxed and happy and the future Duchess has very similar features to her son Prince Louis.

A royal fan account posted the image to their Instagram page the_cambridge_family, sharing that the picture had been released in celebration of Father's Day in 2020. The cute throwback picture received over a thousand likes and social media users loved the glimpse into the Princess' childhood.

The snap was shared with the caption: "OMG!!!!! @kensingtonroyal has released two never before seen photos of William and Kate with their fathers in celebration of Father’s Day," adding: "The second picture [is] of Kate and Michael Middleton. Kate looks so adorable with her pigtails."

In the picture, a young Kate is sat on her father's lap, smiling at the camera. Her father is wearing a white, chequered shirt and blue jeans. Kate is wearing matching jeans and a blue, brown and white shirt. The future Duchess has her hair in plaits and she's sporting a cute blue bracelet. In the picture, her facial features look the spit of Prince Louis.

Fans instantly took to the comments to share their love of the childhood snap. One social media user wrote: "Love these photos," while another simply said: "Great photo!" The similarities between the two don't just end at facial features though. Recently, it was revealed that Kate and Louis share a love of sport.

In September last year, the Duchess of Cambridge played a tennis match at the LTA's National Tennis Centre for The Homecoming to celebrate Emma Raducanu's success at the US Open. Now, it seems her four-year-old son has a shared interest in the sport.

Kate was joined by Prince William and her eldest son, George, for the Wimbledon men's final earlier this year in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Before leaving, they met tennis star Novak Djokovic.

During their conversation, Kate was asked if her children enjoyed playing the sport. She replied: "George is playing. They’re all playing, even Louis who’s four. They’re all keen.”
