She was raised in the capital of South Korea.

Jin’s career in the entertainment industry started off when she joined the girl group Fin.K.L.

Besides Jin, the other members of Fin.K.L are Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, and Sung Yu-ri.

The popular K-pop girl group was formed in 1998 by DSP Media.

Between the late 1980s and early 2000s, the group flourished in the Korean music industry. The only competition that she and her group faced at the time was with SM Entertainment’s S.E.S at the time.

Lee started her career as an actress after Fin.K.L came to a sudden stop in and unofficially ended in the year 2002.

According to sources, Jin got her big break with the help of her friend and groupmate Ock Joo-hyun who introduced her to the selection team. She had auditioned for a spot on the group with the song Heng Bok Han Na Reul, originally sung by singer Eco. After that, she was signed on immediately.
