It also expresses the love of a parent to their child. Ona further level it expresses the loss of a love one and it used a lot at funeral usually for same line as quoted before. As with all classics people interperate their own meaning on to the song, this is what give a song universal appeal and usually commercial success. Not in this case it was never No1 in any chart but is a cult classic.
