Eurovision 2016 - Meet Joe and Jake

After auditioning as solo artists on The Voice last year, Eurovision was probably the last thing on  Joe Woolford and Jake Shakeshaft’s minds. But in May, the pair will take to the stage in Stockholm to represent the UK in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

Joe came sixth in last year’s series of The Voice after being knocked out of the penultimate round, but Jake sadly didn’t make it past the battle rounds after team captain Will.I.Am failed to take him through. Whilst on the show, the two lads became best friends and decided to pair up and become a duo.

Following this, Joe and Jake decided to apply for Eurovision: You Decide, the public voted competition that decides who will represent the UK that year. The week before, a preview of their single, You’re Not Alone was released on Facebook and quickly became a hit with the public. After a brilliant performance on the show, the boys won by a landslide and their single was released to the general public.

And now what? Well, the boys will be campaigning all across the continent in order to get as many people to vote for them as possible. As well as this, there is a high chance the boys will appear on chat shows such as Graham Norton in order to get the UK to get behind them. And then, it’s off to Stockholm to bring the Eurovision crown back to the UK.

I mean, we’ve waited long enough!
