Ben Stiller Doesnt Support Eliminating Donald Trump From Cut Of Zoolander

The New York Post said today that Ben Stiller isn’t backing down. The Hollywood actor has come under pressure from fans online who want him to cut out Donald Trump and Melania Trump’s appearence in 2001’s Zoolander.

During an episode of The Daily Beast’s podcast, The New Abnormal, Stiller discussed how he jumped at the opportunity to have Donald Trump and his wife appear in the movie for a cameo.

According to Stiller, they were shooting at the VH1 Fashion Awards which has since been disbanded, and when they walked up the red carpet, they asked if Melania and Donald wanted to appear in the movie. Of course, Donald Trump is now the president of the United States.

At the time, Donald was merely a famous socialite who signified success and loud affluence. However, these days, he represents something worse to his detractors.

Regardless, fans online aren’t happy about Stiller’s decision, urging for the director to simply remove Trump’s appearance from the movie.

Before Trump took over the Oval Office, he appeared in other films and productions as well including Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Two Weeks Notice, and also Sex and The City and Suddenly Susan.

According to The Post, he even appeared in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Stiller claimed there were a lot of movies in the 1980s and 1990s that featured Trump because he represented a certain image at the time.

This wouldn’t be the first time vocal social media users demanded Trump to be removed from production or platform. Ever since the controversial politician began campaigning for the presidency, Twitter users have requested he be removed from the social sharing platform.

Earlier this year, Trump was in the headlines for other reasons, albeit, indirectly. Kanye West recently announced he was going to run for the presidency in 2020, despite it potentially being too late.

This would make West an opponent to his former ally. As most know, Kanye West came out as a supporter of the controversial president when he was first elected, and again a few years into his administration.
